CRAG campaigns for better public transport, especially railway development, in the Edinburgh area. In particular, we have been campaigning for the development of an integrated and sustainable transport strategy for the Edinburgh travel to work area. To achieve this, we believe that the East of Scotland needs its own regional transport authority to co-ordinate and integrate all buses, train and tram services in Edinburgh, the Lothians and south Fife.

We hold regular meetings during the winter months with guest speakers.

CRAG has produced several campaigning documents in recent years to promote our transport vision and argue the case for more funding for public transport and less for roads. Our Vision for Rail sets out some of the national changes required to deliver better rail services across the UK.

Why not join us? New members are very welcome.

Alternatively, we are welcome to contact us if you want more information about us and our activities.

Please note: Capital Rail Action Group (CRAG) has no connection with the individual Mr. Harold A. Nicholson or with the "Edinburgh Rail Action Group". CRAG, unlike Mr Nicholson, is strongly in support of the Edinburgh tram scheme.
